Pluot® I.S. Plum, Semi-dwarf on Citation
Citation dwarfs plums and plum hybrids to about 3/4 of standard, or about 12-15 ft., depending on variety and location. Very tolerant of wet soil, induces early dormancy in dry soil. Very winter hardy. Resists root-knot nematodes. Trees bear at young age. Trees may be held to any desired height by summer pruning. (Zaiger)
The ever-sweetening Candy Stripe Pluot® interspecific plum delivers a delicious tart flavor when picked in late July/early August, but let it hang on the tree and this fruit will sweeten dramatically during its three-week harvest period (16.3 ºBrix at maturity/first harvest). The medium size, pink-yellow striped fruit is firm and juicy. Candy Stripe requires a pollenizer such as Santa Rosa or Burgundy plum, Flavor Grenade or Flavor King Pluot®. Red-skinned, yellow flesh plum-apricot hybrid. Balanced acid and sugar to predominantly sweet with unique plum-apricot flavor. Medium-sized, very heavy production.
