May Bright nectarine features shiny, dark red skin with very little freckling. Medium to large size for its season, the yellow-fleshed clingstone fruit is very firm, almost non-melting, mildly acidic and sweet in flavor, typically 16 brix. The tree is very productive, harvesting in mid to late May; the fruit keeps three weeks in storage. Estimated chilling requirement 400-450 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 21928)
