The Angelus peach is a mid late-season yellow-fleshed freestone with a mild, low-acid flavor. In warmer climates, the large fruit colors yellow with a little red blush. It is a firm, slightly elongated peach with good shipping qualities and good freezer storage life. Angelus is a heavy producer that ripens in late July to early August. Chilling requirement 800 hours.
A very heavy producer, Brittney Lane is a yellow-fleshed clingstone peach with a very good flavor that is strongly acidic. Brittney Lane is harvested in the 1st to 2nd week of June . Brittney Lane features large size (2-5/8" to 3"), and high color (90% dark red over yellow). Chilling requirement 350 to 450 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 10286)
Country Sweet is a yellow-fleshed clingstone peach with a sweet, low acid flavor. Harvested in the 3rd week of June, Country Sweet is a very heavy producer. The fruit has large size (2-5/8" to 3-1/4") and high color (85% to 90% bright red over yellow). Chilling requirement 800 to 900 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 11090)
A proven variety for many cold-winter climates, Cresthaven is a medium to large, very firm, yellow-fleshed freestone peach maturing approximately four weeks after Redhaven. This variety has good color, 40-60% red over greenish yellow, and very good flavor. Cresthaven is moderately susceptible to bacterial spot. The moderately vigorous tree is winter hardy and very productive. Estimated chilling requirement 950 hours.
Highly colored and firm to very firm with good flavor, Desiree™ peach is attracting attention in the early season. Desiree™ is a medium-sized, yellow-fleshed cling to semi-freestone, harvesting about four weeks before Redhaven. The skin color is 70 to 90% crimson red over yellowish-red. This variety has a low susceptibility to bacterial leaf spot.
Earlirich is a yellow-fleshed semi-freestone peach with a full (100%) dark red skin. The fruit is very firm, features an acidic flavor and harvests in the 2nd to 3rd week of June. Earlirich offers good size (2-5/8" to 3-1/4") and good production. Chilling requirement 750-850 hours.
As its name suggests, Earlitreat is very early, harvesting in the first week of May. The fruit is yellow-fleshed and clingstone with acidic flavor - sugar content is fair to good. This peach features good size (2-5/16" to 2-3/4") and full bright red skin color. Chilling requirement 350 to 450 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 9842)
The Elegant Lady peach was appropriately named for its elegant balance of sugar and acid. A very firm fruit, the Elegant Lady is a yellow-fleshed freestone peach harvested in the 2nd week of July. The fruit is very large (2-3/4" to 3-1/2"), with a round shape and high color (80% to 90% bright red over yellow). This variety is a heavy producer with excellent shipping qualities. Chilling requirement 700-800 hours.
Harvested very late (first week of September), the Fairtime peach is an excellent freezer or fresh-market selection. Fairtime is a yellow-fleshed freestone peach with an attractive yellow skin and bright red blush where exposed to sun. The fruit features a very large size (3" to 3-1/2") and a well-balanced peach flavor. Chilling requirement 700-800 hours.
The clingstone Fiesta Gem peach features an orange-red skin, yellow-flesh and a balanced flavor. The tree is a heavy producer of large, firm fruit (2-5/8" to 3") with high color (80% to 85% orange-red over yellow). Fiesta Gem is harvested in the 2nd week of June. Flamin' Fury PF 17 peach is highly-colored: 60-80% crimson red over greenish-yellow. This widely planted variety has good size, ranging between 2 1/2" and 3"; the yellow freestone flesh is firm, with good flavor, brix averaging 13-15. Harvest is about two weeks after Redhaven. Flamin' Fury has excellent storage qualities and is a good shipper. The tree is consistently productive. This variety has medium susceptibility to bacterial leaf spot.
A popular California peach, the Flavorcrest is a yellow-fleshed freestone that harvests in late June to early July. A mid to large-sized peach, Flavorcrest features firm flesh and good flavor. The fruit has a pleasing red blush (70% color over a yellow background). This variety sets heavily and ships well. Chilling requirement 700-800 hours.
The Gloria™ peach offers a unique combination of qualities; it is exceptionally attractive and extremely firm, with a sweet, low-acid flavor. The fruit is large, highly colored (60 to 90% scarlet red over orange-yellow), with bright orange freestone flesh. Harvest is about four weeks after Redhaven, overlapping Cresthaven. The tree is late-blooming, winter hardy and very productive. Gloria™ has a low susceptibility to bacterial leaf spot.
Red-skinned sub acid that has a mild yet sweet flavor. Has exceptional storage and shipping qualities. Ripens around June 5th. Estimated chilling requirement 600 hours. U.S. Plant Patent No. 26919
June Pride is an intensely flavored freestone peach with yellow flesh and bright red skin color (80% to 85%). June Pride is harvested in the 4th week of June and yields large fruit (2-5/8" to 3"). Estimated chilling requirement 900 to 1000 hours.
June Time peach is distinguished by its skin color: dark grayish red over deep red over a solid yellow background. The firm, non-melting flesh has an acidic-sweet classic peach flavor, typically 14 Brix. June Time has good size, 48-42. Harvest is June 5 to 20, the fruit storing well for two weeks or more. With consistently high pack-outs, the Kaweah peach is an excellent yellow-fleshed freestone, harvesting at the end of July and into August. Kaweah has good size (2-7/8" to 3"), high color (80% to 85% red over yellow) and provides a true peach flavor with nicely balanced acid and sugar. The fruit is suitable for freezing and demonstrates good shipping qualities. Chilling requirement 900 to 1000 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 10177)
Consistent producer of large fruit with dark red skin and firm yellow aromatic flesh. For its very consistent flavor and quality, and for its early harvest, Krista is in high demand. Ripens around May 12th. Estimated chilling requirement 500 hours. U.S. Plant Patent No. 27167
May Sweet peaches ripen in the early maturity season (3rd week of May), demonstrating good handling and shipping qualities. The fruit is yellow-fleshed and clingstone with a mildly sweet, sub-acid flavor. The elongated fruit has good size (2-7/16" to 2-3/4") with occasional tips. May Sweet is a firm peach with good skin color (dark red over bright yellow). (U.S. Plant Patent No. 12410)
With harvest beginning the first week of May, Mazee is a promising new market leader for the very early season. Attractive red skin, yellow clingstone flesh. Good balance of acid and sugar, very good flavor. Stored well for two weeks in trials. Low winter chilling requirement, estimated to be 250 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 27168)
For fruit quality, Messina™ peach has a lot to offer: large size, firm to very firm freestone yellow flesh with very good flavor, and attractive, highly colored skin (nearly full red blush over yellow). Messina™ harvests during Cresthaven season, about four weeks after Redhaven, and keeps well in storage. This variety has a low susceptibility to bacterial leaf spot. Bloom occurs relatively early, potentially impacting fruit set in cold-winter climates.
One of the most popular shipping peaches, O'Henry is a large, firm, yellow-fleshed freestone peach with excellent freezing and shipping qualities. This very heavy producer matures at the beginning of August. The O'Henry peach yields a well-balanced flavor, good color (70% to 80% bright red over yellow), and large size (2-1/2" to 3"). Chilling requirement 750 hours.
This late-blooming peach variety has produced full crops in southeastern Michigan when other cold hardy varieties failed due to winter and spring freezes. The highly-colored fruit is large (average diameter about 2 3/4") with very firm, yellow freestone flesh. Skin color is about 90% red over greenish-yellow. PF 24-C Cold Hardy harvests about three weeks after Redhaven and has very good acidic-sweet flavor, average brix 13-16. Keeping and shipping qualities are very good. PF 5D Big has large size for such an early peach, averaging about 2 3/4" with few split pits. It is highly colored: 80-90% crimson red over an orange ground color. The firm, semifreestone flesh is acidic-sweet and flavorful, average brix 10-11. This variety has excellent storage and shipping quality. PF 5D Big is resistant to bacterial leaf spot. A large, very firm, highly colored yellow-fleshed freestone, PF 8 Ball also has very good flavor, with an average brix of 13. The skin is nearly fully blushed dark red. Harvest is early and the fruit stores and ships very well. PF 8 Ball is a late bloomer and resistant to bacterial leaf spot. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 18534)
A very late maturing peach - 7-8 weeks after Redhaven - Big George has large, firm fruit that stores exceptionally well. The fruit is highly colored for such a late peach, 50-80% dark red over yellow. The light yellow freestone flesh has very good flavor, Brix averaging about 15. The tree requires a minimum of thinning. PF Big George is resistant to bacterial leaf spot. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 19639)
The semifreestone Early 8 Ball peach, harvesting about 17 days before Redhaven, is highly colored - almost completely red - with good size, averaging about 2 1/2" to 2 3/4". The firm yellow flesh has very good flavor, averaging about 12 Brix. Early 8 Ball stores and ships very well. This variety is resistant to bacterial leaf spot. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 19243)
Highly colored for such a late peach (50-80% light red over yellow), PF Fat Lady also has good size, with firm yellow freestone flesh. The fruit sizes well with minimal thinning: 95% of the fruit is 2 1/2" or larger, over half is 2 3/4" up. This peach is very juicy with good flavor and a balance of sugar and acid, average brix 14-15. Harvest is late season, about 40 days after Redhaven, hence the name (the season "ain't over til"...). The fruit keeps very well in storage and is an excellent shipper. PF Fat Lady is a late bloomer, consistent cropper, and has good resistance to bacterial leaf spot. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 14368)
PF Lucky 13 has it all: size, color, firmness and flavor, plus very good resistance to bacterial leaf spot. The large (average 2 3/4") fruit has 60-80% scarlet red blush over yellow with some mottling. The very firm yellow freestone flesh has good flavor, average brix 10-12. Lucky 13 harvests about five days after Redhaven and holds well on the tree for 10 days after maturity, continuing to gain size. This variety has excellent storage and shipping quality. Harvesting in late May, Princess Time peach features full dark red skin color and very large size (plenty of 40s). The fruit is round with a flattened nose; the yellow clingstone flesh is very firm, but melting, with excellent acidic-sweet peach flavor. Keeps two weeks or more in storage. The world-renowned Redhaven has long been the standard of quality for the early peach season. Medium-sized, with firm, semi-freestone yellow flesh and good, low-acid flavor, Redhaven is well suited to canning, freezing and fresh-market use. When shipping ripe, Redhaven has an attractive orange-red blush over greenish-yellow ground color. The self-fertile Redhaven tree is winter hardy and productive, with good disease resistance. Estimated chilling requirement 800-950 hours.
Rich with color and flavor, the Rich Lady peach is a superb yellow-fleshed semi-freestone. Rich Lady is a very heavy producer of firm fruit that is harvested in late June. The fruit has large size (2-5/8" to 3-1/4") and full color (100% dark red over yellow). Chilling requirement 650-700 hours.
Strong growing and producing, this variety's fruit sets a high standard for flavor and consistency throughout the tree. The fruit is characterized by its red skin and firm yellow flesh, and is durable enough to withstand packing and shipping. Ripens about May 25th. Estimated chilling requirement 700 hours. Harvested in the 3rd week of May, Rich May is a yellow-fleshed clingstone peach with better flavor than other May-ripening selections. Although it may be difficult to crop some years, the Rich May is a very vigorous tree producing large fruit (2-5/8" to 3") with high color (85% to 90% deep red over yellow). This peach has a chilling requirement of 800 to 900 hours, and may form tips in low-chill years.
Large, firm peach with attractive red skin, maturing between Earlirich and Sierra Rich. Very good flavor and eating quality. Compared to Sunnirich peach, Rich Pride is larger, has a more attractive red skin color and matures 1-2 weeks earlier. Harvest late June/early July. Estimated chilling requirement 850 hours. Sauzee Pride is a yellow freestone Peento peach with excellent size and a sweet, sub-acid flavor. Ripening in the last week of July, this saucer peach is firm-fleshed, has a distinct suture, fairly smooth skin and has a low tendency to crack. Sauzee Pride is self-fertile, the tree is vigorous and regularly produces heavy crops. Sauzee Pride has an estimated chilling requirement of 750 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 20639)
The Sierra Rich peach is a very large yellow-fleshed freestone that is harvested with June Pride at the end of June and into July. Sierra Rich offers good handling and shipping qualities combined with good flavor and large size (2-5/8" to 3-1/4"). Expect this variety to produce heavy and regular yields with a high degree of attractive red skin color. Chilling requirement 650-700 hours. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 12391)
The Spring Treat peach was selected for its remarkable ability to produce commercial quality fruit in areas with only 250 to 300 winter chilling hours. This yellow-fleshed semi-freestone matures in the 3rd week of May and produces fruit of medium to large size (2-3/8" to 3") with good flavor and firm flesh. Springcrest is a yellow-fleshed freestone peach that ripens May 22-29. This variety offers good flavor, a nice round shape, medium size, and fair color (60% red color over yellow). Chilling requirement 700-800 hours.
A descendant of the Springcrest cultivar, the Sugar Time peach is a yellow-fleshed semi-freestone with a mild, sweet, sub-acid flavor and excellent eating quality. In addition to the sweet flavor, Sugar Time offers early harvest: with Spring Treat in the 3rd week of May. This peach features good size (2-3/8 to 2-7/8) and color. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 12046)
Reddish blush preceded by a brilliant yellow ground color gives this variety an unusually beautiful complexion. The fruit has firm yellow aromatic flesh and is relatively uniform in size and color. Summer Gold is a large, firm, yellow flesh clingstone peach with an attractive red skin color. It ripens the first week of August and requires 750 chill hours. (US PP 24,777)
Maturing in mid-July, the Summer Zee peach is a yellow-fleshed freestone with an excellent tart flavor. Summer Zee produces very large, uniformly round fruit (2-3/4" to 3-1/4") with high skin color (80% to 90% bright red over yellow). Chilling requirement 900 to 1000 hours.
With its beautiful orange-red skin color and mild, sweet, low acid flavor, Sunnirich peach offers very good eating quality in an attractive package. Having a low winter chilling requirement of approximately 350 hours, the Super Lady is a very early yellow-fleshed clingstone peach with balanced flavor, good handling and shipping quality. Super Lady offers heavy and regular bearing of fruit in the second week of May. (U.S. Plant Patent No. 15578)
With some peach cultivars, early maturity dates mean low yields, but that is not the case with the Super Rich peach. This yellow-fleshed clingstone peach is a heavy producer that ripens in the 2nd week of May. Super Zee has the earliest maturity date of the yellow peaches at Dave Wilson Nursery and a very low chilling requirement, approximately 150 to 200 hours. The yellow-fleshed clingstone fruit ripens at the beginning of May with an attractive red skin color. Super Zee is a productive and regular bearer of medium size fruit with good sub-acidic flavor. Exceptional size is the hallmark of the Sweet Dream peach. This yellow-fleshed freestone features a low-acid sweet flavor, full skin color (100% bright red over yellow) and an enormous size averaging 2-7/8" to 3-1/2". Sweet Henry is a new peach variety developed by Zaiger Genetics with a mild, sweet, low-acid flavor. The Sweet Henry peach ripens just after O'Henry in the 2nd week of August. The recently patented Sweet Juana peach is making three-inch peaches the new standard. This yellow-fleshed clingstone ripens in late August with remarkably large average size (3" to 3-1/4"). Sweet Juana is a sweet, low-acid fruit with good firmness and good skin color. In the fruit evaluations at Dave Wilson Nursery, this variety receives notably high cropping scores. Sweet Scarlet is a yellow-fleshed semi-freestone peach with a low-acid, very sweet flavor. This variety is a light producer harvesting the 2nd week of June. The fruit has large size (2-5/8" to 3") and high skin color (80% to 85% bright red over yellow). Chilling requirement 800 to 900 hours.
The last peach to mature at Dave Wilson Nursery, Sweet September is an excellent low-acid, yellow-fleshed freestone peach. The harvest of Sweet September begins in the 2nd week of September and extends as late as mid-October in late-harvest regions such as in Washington State. Tra Zee is a delicious late summer yellow-fleshed freestone peach. Harvested about two weeks after O'Henry in the 2nd week of August, the Tra Zee peach exhibits superb balanced flavor, very large size (2-7/8" to 3-1/4"), and good skin color (70% to 80% dark red over yellow). The fruit is suitable for freezer use. Chilling requirement 800 to 900 hours.
Sweet flavor and high color make the Valley Sweet peach an outstanding mid late-season selection. Valley Sweet is a yellow-fleshed freestone peach with a sweet, low-acid flavor. Harvested in the 3rd week of July, this fruit combines large size (2-5/8" to 3-1/4") and high color (90% to 95% bright red over yellow). Chilling requirement 650 to 750 hours. Victoria® is a large, firm to very firm late season freestone peach with excellent flavor and good shelf life. The skin is bright yellow blushed with red, the flesh is yellow. Harvest is about 47 days after Redhaven, four weeks after Cresthaven. The tree is vigorous, spreading and productive, mature fruit holding well on the tree. Victoria® has a low susceptibility to bacterial leaf spot.
Harvested with Rich Lady in late June, the Vista peach offers less staining and full bright red color. Vista is a yellow-fleshed semi-freestone with luscious flavor. Vista exemplifies superior qualities all-around with large size (2-5/8" to 3-1/4"), good skin color (100% bright red over yellow) and a balanced, acidic-sweet flavor. Chilling requirement 600-700 hours.
Western Princess fruit is very large, with nearly full red skin color. Streaked with red, the firm yellow freestone flesh is mildly acidic and sweet, typically 13 Brix. Zee Diamond is a very firm, yellow-fleshed clingstone peach with a strongly acidic flavor. The Zee Diamond peach is harvested in the 1st week of June and is characterized by large size (2-5/8" to 3") and high skin color (90% to 95% bright red over yellow). Chilling requirement 850 to 950 hours.
Good for freezer use, the Zee Lady is a delicious yellow-fleshed freestone peach that is harvested the 2nd week of July.
